Tonight the Lady Kougar C Team traveled up State Rd 49 to play their 3rd consecutive DAC team, the Chesterton Lady Trojans. The Kougars took the early advantage picking apart the Chesterton 1-3-1 trapping half court defense & driving to the hoop to take a 9-2 lead after one quarter. The Lady Trojans had to give up on the trap and start playing man-to-man defense trying to slow the Kougars for the rest of the first half. The Lady Kougars managed to keep the lead going into halftime, 16-13. After the break, the Lady Kougars picked up their offense and began driving past the Trojans to outscore Chesterton 14-7 and go up by 10 after 3, 30-20. To start the 4th, the Trojans began to pressure the Kougars full court. KV would break the press for driving layups or finding their open teammates for easy baskets. The final frame would see the Lady Kougars dominate their opponent 12-2 and securing a 20 point victory, 42-22. These young Lady Kougars are off to a 3-0 start. Six of the seven roster players ended up scoring in the well-balanced attack. Tinley Van Meter led the team with 14, Aubree Bristol 9, Riley Jones 8, Brooklyn Whitt 6, Laney Walstra 3, and Maci Schoon 2. Lindsey Crowley played strong defense with multiple deflections and diving for loose balls. Come out and support these ladies as the schedule doesn’t get any easier. Next up for the Lady Kougars C Team sees them traveling to NCC foe, Munster, after the Thanksgiving Break, Monday December 1st. Tipoff is 5:30pm.
