The Lady Kougars wrestling team had 7 girls qualify and 6 of those girls participated in Regionals in Plymouth Saturday. Lilly Culbreth was able to place 2nd and qualify for State. #3 State ranked Lilly Culbreth was able to pin her first 2 opponents in the first period to survive the Ticket Round and punch her ticket to the State Finals. Once in the Semi Finals she faced #2 ranked Caroline Balica, who she previously loss a close match to during the season. Culbreth was able to seek redemption and pinned Balica in the 3rd period. Once in the Finals Culbreth faced #1 State ranked Ava Strayer and remaining State Champion from Crown Point. She unfortunately loss and was able to finish 2nd in the toughest Regionals in the State. Culbreth will participate in the State Finals, located at the State Fairgrounds, Friday January 16th. Please join us in her send off as she's escorted out of town Thursday approximately 2 pm.
