The Lady Kougars are Sectional Champs! The Hanover Central Wildcats gave the Kougars a battle tonight in sectional championship. To start the game off, it was low scoring and defensive stops again with it being 9-9 after the first quarter. The Lady Kougars tried to speed up the game and it worked for a little and allowed the Kougars to be up 5 at the half 20-15. The Lady Kougars knew they did not play well in the first half, and were challenged at half to turn their play around. The Kougars came out and did extend that lead to 13 with 2:30 minutes left to go in the 3rd. End of third it was 33-23. The Kougars knew that Hanover was not going to roll over and needed to be the first punch in the 4th and hopefully the last. They did just that and extended the lead 36-23 with 4:30 seconds left to go in the 4th. Hanover came back with their last punch and the Kougars overcame that and became victorious with a 38-29 victory. The Kougars move onto the next round in the state Tournament and will play Fairfield, with the time and destination tbd. Thank you to Kougar nation for the support and the staff for putting on a great tournament. Not everyone gets to play their sectional at home and it was really special for the Lady Kougar program to also win it on their home court. Leading in scoring was Olivia Adams with 19, Camry Krueger 11, Mallorie Rose 3, Jenna Walker 3, Maci Capps 2. Record is now 20-4 .
