KVHS Girls' Track and Field: @Indy North Central HS; Lady Kougar Track and Field stars Krista Sytsma, Haylee Hass and Jenna Walker all performed at a high level at yesterday's state track and field meet. The junior Sytsma, seeded 24th, ran a fantastic 1600 meter race to earn a 7th place All-State medal in 5:01.83, some 8 seconds faster than at regional. She set multiple records this season, earned her third total All-State honor in 2025-26, and became KV's 11th outdoor state placer in the past 13 years. The senior Hass and sophomore Walker, both also multiple record holders, returned to state this season and competed very well. Hass, KV's best ever female vaulter, jumping on her birthday, cleared 10-6, and had a terrific final attempt at 11-0, finishing 16th. She has left an amazing legacy at KV, and will continue her academic and athletic career at PNW. Three sport standout Walker, who did very well to advance to another state meet, raced tough, and also finished in the top 20, finishing the 1600 in 19th with a time of 5:11.96. These three represented their school with class and excellent sportsmanship once again, at the biggest meet, and their coaches are all very proud of them. GO KOUGS!
