Kankakee Valley and Hanover Central met on Wednesday evening after getting postponed on Tuesday due to severe weather in the Region. The much anticipated matchup did not end with the desired result, as the Kougars took their first loss on the season, losing to the Wildcats by a final score of 3-1. Junior, Juliet Skowronski scored the lone goal for the Kougars. Senior goalkeeper Rigley Pszonka had 3 total saves. Hanover came out tough in the first half and tallied 3 goals, going into the second with a 3-0 lead. The deficit was too much to recover from, and even though the Kougars won half 2, it wouldn't be enough. The loss marks their first in conference play. The team is in the thick of their schedule, with their next 2 matches being against tough NCC Conference competitors, the Hobart Brickies and the Munster Mustangs. Their record now stands at 7-1-1.
